appearance.
Alexa has natural dark brown hair; it falls down just past her shoulders in a neat mess of curls. Usually, she leaves her hair as it is, or up in a tight ponytail. Depending on her mood, she sometimes straightens it out which makes her hair looks more flow-y.
Her face appears to be an oval in shape, along with a very feminine jaw line. Her complexion is very pale, but it’s not rare for her to get a nice farmer’s tan during the summer. The first thing people usually notice about Alex is her eyes. They are a subtle green, and they are full of expression. Her smile is very bright, and her teeth are nice and straight. But that’s the result of proper hygiene and wearing braces and retainers throughout most of her teenage days. On her neck, she has a couple of brown freckles that you don’t usually see because of her hair. On the right side of her abdominal area, there is a scar from where she had her appendix removed. It is starting to slowly fade away as she ages, but she tries not to show off that particular area of her body. There also happens to be a scar on her left leg from the time she injured herself at camp.
Make-up is something she doesn’t usually wear. She doesn’t enjoy the feeling of layers of goop being caked on her face. There are times where she does wear it, but she has to be in the mood and have the time to commit herself to a task that is somewhat foreign to her.
Casual wear consists of usually jeans and some form of top, as long as she doesn’t look like a slob. A good percentage of her clothes are brand name, but she hates having shirts that have logos and names splattered all over them. Barn wear is the same, except she trades in her jeans for a pair of beige breeches and her shoes are replaced by a shined pair of dress boots.

personality. On the outside, Alexa looks like a very confident person. Maybe it’s because of the way she moves, or maybe it’s because of her facial expressions. She’s smart, and knowledgeable. Alex is a people person because she is able to interact well with other people. She is very kind hearted, and respectful. In general, Alexa is just another friendly face.
However, she has her flaws. She is known to become impatient with students when they don’t understand something or if they don’t get something right the first time. Because she enjoys the company of others, it is easy for her to become lonely when not around others. (This is the main reason she has a dog) Even though she is a people person, she seems to be a bit more timid around new people and the opposite gender. Not only this, but Alex gets very irritable when she hasn’t eaten anything just like any other person.

history. Alexa was born on February 17th, 1983 to Sarah and Joseph Walker. At that time, they lived in Orlando Florida. Her father was a military man, who was always being moved from one place to another. For a majority of her childhood, he was never really there with the exception of holidays. At the age of five, Alex went to Kindergarten just like everyone else. Her best friend at that the time was a little blonde girl named Jenifer; and at that age they almost did everything together. It didn’t matter what games they played, or what they did Jenifer and Alexa enjoyed each other’s company.
It was in grade two Alex had sparked an interest in horses after attending another girl’s birthday party. As a special treat, Mr. Walker had purchased his young daughter a couple of riding lessons at a local barn. She had thoroughly enjoyed it, and well one can guess what happened next; she stuck with it.
At school, she was known as the horse-rider.
In grade four, the school had offered guitar lessons, which Alex eagerly took. No one really knows why she did, but along with her horseback riding she stuck to playing the guitar.
That same year, she began attending local schooling shows which she thoroughly enjoyed even though she only rode in flat classes. It didn’t take too long afterwards when she was introduced into jumping.
Life was easy lived really. Nothing could have been better; Alexa was leasing her first horse and competing on a regular basis for experience. In her free time, she enjoyed sitting inside the stable playing her guitar. The horses were never a harsh crowd and some part of her thought the animals enjoyed listening. Everything was fine and dandy, that is until she hit puberty. Her face began to swell with pimples, and she was constantly made fun of because of it. “Pizza face” they called her. She instantly became shy, and her self esteem had dropped.
High school was particularly difficult for her. Almost everyone made fun of her, well except for the kids who were in the same state she was in. Even her best friend Jenifer had begun making fun of her, which really upset Alex. She started to go into a long period of loneliness. Her mother was working full time now that her daughter was old enough to care for herself, and well her father still worked with the military. Through her four years of high school, she mainly kept to herself. Homework was becoming more difficult to handle, but with the help of a boy named Tom she was able to succeed.
Tom was the same age as Alexa. He was smart, but not nerdy. He hung around the people who usually made fun of her, so it was really hard for her to think of ever liking him in anyway. But, being a hormonal teenager she fell very hard for Tom. They soon became very close friends despite where they stood on the social ladder. Half-way through those long four years, Tom and Alexa were in a relationship. In their senior year, they were almost inseparable. However, before graduation they had broken up over the fact that Tom had cheated on her with a younger student. In the future, this would affect her shyness towards the opposite gender.
After graduating high school, Alexa took a year off to work and ride. She was a regular competitor on the hunter circuit, and was beginning to have a lot of success. At shows, she would go around braiding the equitation and hunter horses. She braided the horse’s manes and tails, charging 25$ per horse. All of her braiding money was put in a bank account, which was being saved towards her first horse.
Before she turned nineteen, Alexa had been applying for University. She wanted to go to a place that had an NCAA Equestrian team, so she could do her studies and still compete. A video was sent out the coaches at Rowanoak University, a school located out of State in Kentucky. They replied with a letter of acceptance that summer. Her parents were both proud, and had sent their only child out into the world. And it was then final; Alex would be attending Rowanoak University.
The first year of university wasn’t the easiest. Alexa knew no one, and was scared shitless of being off by herself. She would eventually settle down, and even knew a majority of her classmates by name. Weekdays were spent at the campus learning and studying. Weekends were mostly spent at the stable, either participating in lessons, or practises sometimes even shows. By the end of her final year, she had ended up purchasing a Dutch Warmblood mare named Sweet Thing who was actually the very first horse Alexa had ever owned.
After graduating from University, she decided to stay in Lexington. She would eventually pursue a career as a coach. Alexa had started off instructing equitation to teenagers, but soon found her calling instructing hunters. In 2010, she applied at Ridgefield Stables as a hunter coach. She was hired shortly after.
riding history.
Riding lessons began for Alex when she was seven years old. She rode at a small show barn in Orlando Florida, which is where she rode until she moved away to University.
Her first lessons were on a small, fat Shetland pony named BraveHeart. He wasn’t at all lazy, and had quite a bit of pep considering he was an older school pony. Together, they would compete in equitation on the flat where they didn’t place at all. That fall, Alexa was introduced to jumping. Since BraveHeart was too fat to jump any higher than a small cross rail she went on to riding a bigger pony who was Welsh pony cross named Duke. Now Duke was very athletic, and he loved to jump just as much as his rider did. They would show in equitation classes and a few pony hunter classes as well. Alexa had ridden Duke for around three years, before she outgrew him.
At the age of ten, Alexa finally leased her first horse. She was an appaloosa mare who they called Dot. She was kind and sweet, and made almost any rider look good going over fences. This mare was Alexa’s partner in crime for about four years. The lady who owned Dot had moved away, bringing her sweet mare with her. By this time, she ended up on an equitation horse named Sam. She stayed with Sam all throughout High School, where they had become fierce competitors. They had won quite a few championships, and at ended Alexa’s last year of riding as a junior with a bang.
After graduating, Alexa took a year or so off to work, and compete. She was still riding Sam, but now they were competing in the hunter ring. The horse was getting old, but he was still very competitive. According to some people at the stable, the years Alex spent with Sam were some of her finest. She was showing a lot of talent, and was almost always the one to beat in a competition.
However, that year didn’t last as long as anyone wanted it too. When she was 19, she applied to attend Rowanoak University; a school that had a renowned riding program. Alexa had applied, and of course was accepted. She leased different horses during the course of her stay, and was able to bring in her own horse Sweets during her final year.
After graduating from Rowanoak, neither of them have competed as often as they used to, due to the fact that Alex was usually too busy coaching to do so. In any classes they have entered, they usually were able to place well.
