appearance. Jodi is a very serious looking woman. Her hair is almost always up in a severe pony tail or even under a helmet most days. She is not too tall, though not too short either, her stature makes her a perfect fit for most horses. She is skinny, as she is always running around and never stopping to eat or take time for herself. Her hands are strongly calloused, and her upper arms and shoulders are muscular to the point of bordering on manly. Her calves and thighs are the same, a testament to the many hours and long years she has been riding. She has stern gray eyes and a tiny mouth, which are both overshadowed by a strong nose and elegant eyebrows. Her hair, when ever it is down, is always a bit longer than shoulder length and falls over her left eye in side swept bangs. Her expression is bright and alert, even when woken up in the middle of the night. She has small hands and feet.

personality
likes. Winning, perfection, springtime, long rides, accomplishment, activity, politeness, determination in others and herself
dislikes. when others are lazy or self defeating, finding faults in herself, beating around the bush, being ganged up on/cornered, filth
personality. Jodi is a perfectionist, pure and simple. Her drive is to be the best, but not to knock others down in her path. She likes to help those who seek help but want to find things out on their own. She also likes charity cases, animals and people included. She will do her best help a student that is struggling. She also hates when students do not try or sabotage their own efforts. People who will do anything to get to the top also get on her nerves. She understands that a horse and rider should be a team, and will not tolerate riders who use horses as a means to winning. Once Jodi is set in doing something, she is like a bulldog, she won't ever let go. She also likes to be the center of attention, though she doesn't vie for it in a crowd. Her personality can scare many students into thinking that she is mean and nasty, but those who see through her tough outer shell see that she is really just trying to help. She is somewhat curt with new students and even the old ones that have become complacent.

history. Jodi's parents had always been a mismatched pair. As she grew up, she learned to let her parent's problems take a back seat to her schooling and activities. She immersed herself in her grades, always aiming high to please her mother. This went on until Jodi's mother left when Jodi was 12, but she never let on that it upset her. She just pushed harder. This was also the time that she discovered the barn right outside of town. She would ride her bike there on Saturdays and work for her lessons after school during the week. Her dad slowly sank into depression and alcohol, but Jodi prospered. As long as Stuart provided her with food and money, which he was more than willing to throw at her, Jodi was as happy as she could be. It was a hard life, growing up with out a mother, but Jodi was never one to be sad or let that get in the way of things. At the age of 18, she went to Rowanoak on scholarship. She had started showing intensively during the last 5 years of school. It was an outlet. And finally, all that work had payed off. She met Kevin at Rowanoak. They were both inseparable. He understood her drive to succeed and let her alone with it, and he was just the amount of comfort Jodi needed to relax after a hard day. They competed against each other, but it was never animosity that came between them. When they graduated, Jodi moved around a bit, leaving Kevin behind in Rochester. She worked for some well known training stables, gaining knowledge in many different ways of training.
Then one day, a couple days before she was due home, she got the call. It was the Rochester Hospital. Kevin had been in a car accident and she was needed to make some decisions about his life support. It had been a hit and run, many suspected a drunk driver, but no one was quite sure. Kevin was in a coma, on a ventilator. When Jodi came home it was hard. She moved in with her dad, though that was hardly the best thing for her. She had acquired her own gelding, Faerieland, whom she boarded at her old stable. After giving the go-ahead to take Kevin off of life support, Jodi fell into a deep depression. She was missed at the barn, the manager making sure Fay was taken care of while Jodi figured out her life. Finally, she went to visit the gelding. She was devastated to find how fat he had become. A young girl at the barn recognized Jodi from pictures and rushed over to ask for an autograph. She talked excitedly about how Jodi was her idol and how she wanted to be just like her when she grew up. Jodi decided at that moment to pull herself out of it and become a trainer for kids just like that girl.
