appearance. Madison is tall blonde and usually slender – bombshell right? Not quite. The girl isn’t totally confident in her skin and it’s evident sometimes. She wasn’t always as gifted in the looks department as she is in current day, she was chubby growing up and isn’t above gaining a few pounds thanks to her sweet tooth. Madison went through a phase where she pretended not to know what make-up or skin care was, that added to her sweets based diet lead to skin problems. Problems she has since taken care of but the light scaring is still visible in harsh light – she uses tinted moisturizer pretty much daily. A frequent visitor to the gym she was “gifted” with her mother’s curves which won’t compliment her shape anymore if she doesn’t keep them in check – combined with her father’s broad shoulder she isn’t exactly petite. She is a strong working girl who grew on a farm – be glad she knows what a hairbrush is as her long and stunning naturally golden locks would be a total mess without one. They have a mind of their own and need to be washed pretty much daily, she is kind of high maintenance for someone who grew up “bathing” in a cows or horses trough. No matter the case she has grown into herself very much in the past few years, found clothes that compliment her currently in shape and fine looking figure. Thanks to her grandmother her eyes are an interesting shade of hazel and brighten up her whole face, her smile was assisted by braces and some bleaching but looks fantastic today because of that. Without all the casual make-up and well planned out wardrobe she wouldn’t need to wear a bag over her head or anything but she certainly wouldn’t catch people’s eye the way she does when she gets a chance to look in the mirror in the morning.

personality. Madison is an honest and hardworking woman, she isn’t without her faults but she sure tries hard to make up for them. She is in there like a dirty shirt to lend a hand, tripping over her own feet to help you up and spending hours after work to make sure the job gets done right. She isn’t one to complain and seems to have an inability to say no, which has of course gotten her in some trouble in the past. Madi is a good natured person who is always up for a laugh and a good time, she does better in company than she does on her own. Madison is quite intolerant of drunks and excessive drinking, she isn’t above having one beer but much more than that scares her a little. Thanks to her past experiences she has learned to voice her opinions and isn’t going to turn a blind eye on something because it scares her. If she is going to risk upsetting someone or a friendship in order to keep them safe or healthy she won’t back down. Her temper when it sees the light of day can be a little scary so it’s best to avoid setting her off – and in the case you do perhaps avoid her for a few hours or maybe a full day if it’s possible. Madison gets stuck on things, runs them over and over again and if she is reliving being angry with you for hours on end you probably don’t want to show up in the middle of it all. The woman is capable of holding a grudge – it isn’t in her usual style but it isn’t above her. One thing she does lack a little is confidence in herself and looks, the girl is pretty much incapable of paying herself a compliment and can be a little hard on herself but all in all she usually falls asleep and wakes up with a smile on her face – even if she isn’t quite happy underneath, Madison is quite capable of lying and hiding her true feelings. She does get upset if you keep something from her, slightly hypocritical perhaps but she never claimed she was perfect.

history. Madison was born and raised on what started as a working ranch, the girl was up before the sun and doing chores with her dad and older brother. She was an easy baby according to her folks, not too fussy and ate pretty much anything that was put in front of her – the secret to her smile or silence was always through something sweet, perhaps this is where her problems kind of started – more about that later. Madison grew up around farm animals, she had a calf in 4H for as long as she could remember but her real fascination on the farm was the few horses left from her grandparents lines that her father kept in the barn. He bred a couple mare’s to a nice stallion or two each year and when Madi turned seven a colt was born that would change her life and the ranch in ways she didn’t know. There was something about the palomino colt, he was bred and born to be a working horse – nothing too fancy but he was far from something you hid at the back of your barn. That colt was the real start of Clearview performance horses. Cash had always been a little tight around the farm, she went to school in clothes that were far from the best brands and sometimes they didn’t even fit Madison quite right – she seemed to be growing more than her classmates but in the wrong direction. It didn’t really matter, she made friends at school despite her sweet tooth and slightly chubby frame. It was baby fat and she took to school like a duck to water usually put her best foot forward.
The more horses that seemed to pop up on the farm the less cows that hung around, her chores were switched over to the horse barn and her real riding began about half way through first grade. Her pa put her up on the older horses so they got their legs stretched while he worked the younger stock with Madison’s older brother Jack. She hit the dirt more than once, but prided herself in being a real cowgirl so shed no tears and got back on with a determined smile on her face. The more popular the ranch name became on the quarter horse circuit the better the family seemed to do, they managed to put a much needed addition on the old farm house and fixed up the barns nice and fancy. Madison got to go to the real hairdressers, sported clean cut and fitting clothes and even asked friends over to see the horses. The older she got the more obvious it was that her father’s blood ran in her veins, she wasn’t pretty as a picture girl next door but the girl was hardworking and wanted to ride more than anything. She was promised lessons and a horse of her own to show if her grades were kept up – she held up her end of the bargain and her parents did the same. Her debut on the quarter horse circuit wasn’t perfect, her reining pattern was a bit of a mess and her horsemanship class equitation didn’t impress anyone. She put in a good effort in her pleasure and managed to pull a sixth in her train class, Madison didn’t care that the only ribbon she took home was pink – she loved every second of it.
The family grew quite close as they hit more and more shows together, so it wasn’t a surprise that everyone took Jack’s death hard. It was Samantha’s grad year and her brother was two years her senior and getting ready to finally head off to university. He was enrolled at Rowanoak University actually but moose on the road sent him to heaven instead, Madison’s father took his son’s death the worst and turned to the bottle – it ran in the family but both Madi and her mom turned a blind eye. Leaving home for the university her brother had set his sights on was hard at first but Madison had the grades and the riding to get there, the national titles and belt buckles didn’t earn themselves. University wasn’t totally easy on the girl. She came from a small town of farmers where most of the girls in her school showed up with dirt under their nails and their hair braided – make up was reserved for special occasions only – like when she hit the show ring. The girl wasn’t exactly girl next door pretty, she was blond yes but her skin was far from model like as was her weight and whole self esteem. Apparently it didn’t matter too much, she was there on lots of scholarship money for a reason and her team mates didn’t seem to mind her lack of a hair brush too much. Madison had a few great friends, Damian was someone she actually felt pretty close with – in a brotherly way, despite her secret crushing. The boy was in some of her classes and they were both in the riding program – both quite talented, in their own division of course. Madison had shown some hunter stuff on the quarter horse circuit but it was never really her – she did enjoy watching the jumpers though.
The girl made it through university with great marks, a great show record and some good friends. She never really made it big into the popular scene and while she wasn’t okay with everything that went down – despite her thoughts on drinking and sleeping around she was usually quite envious of the girl Damian had spent the night before with. She had no problem teasing the boy about his drinking and consistent hangover, just like he put up with her total hick and slightly less than attractive ways – even when her parents finally splurged on braces he didn’t tease her – too much. The lack of relationship wasn’t totally Damian’s fault, while he must have been aware of her crush she never said anything to him or gave him real reason to be suspicious. She did worry about him more than she let on, it was easy to tease him about his drinking habits but she worried more and more as her own father struggled with keeping conscious all day. Madison did press it to Damian in their senior year but they were pulled apart after graduation – different goals and places to be. She tried to stay in touch but his relationship made her more than jealous and then his whole dark stage and accident then drinking scared the crap out of her. Madison dealt with life pretty easily the next few years, she took up a job managing and training at a big name quarter horse facility – kept in touch with her folks not as much as she should have as her father’s addiction scared the crap out of her.
The phone call with bad news should have come as more of a shock than it should have, she hadn’t heard from anyone at home in weeks. The whole incident with the barn burning down did catch her by total surprise to be fair, her mother survived – her father in his drunkenness had caused the fire under the influence and not lived to tell the tale. Her mother had been driven away from the property a week before and left the barn workers with the instruction to keep an eye on the horses. They did their work, it was summer and hot the horses were turned out like they always were so no equine life was lost in the fire – just a huge expensive barn that the insurance company refused to cover. Madison filed her resignation well aware her place wouldn’t be available when she returned but decided work closer to home would be better. Her mother was shattered and the funeral was horrible but most of the memories of her father were good ones. Most of the stock was sold off to cover the damage to the property and against her wishes the farm itself was sold and her mother transferred to a townhouse in the small town she spent most of her life in. Madison collected the pieces, found the horses homes except for one. Her father’s personal mount a seven year old, mare who was proven working on the farm and in the arena a like – she has a killer lope but really shone in the reining ring. Madison packed the horse with her when she returned to Rowanoak but this time as staff.
riding history. Madison was a horse admirer from day one, though her actual riding didn’t exactly start until half way into grade one – when her father’s horse related business took a turn for the better. The young blond cowpoke wasn’t a prodigy or anything; she spent her deserved amount of time in the dirt if not more. She learned the hard way and was gifted with good minded horses – they weren’t all fancy to look at. The older she got the more time she was allowed to spend with the horses, she started showing around the age of 11 or 12 after she could name every part of a horse, tack, prep and school her own horse without anyone’s help. Madison wasn’t an instant national or congress champion but she tried hard and stuck with it, her father appreciated that and let her sit in on his training and starting sessions. Throughout high school she continued to show the horses on the quarter horse circuit at recognized and regional level shows – she won herself a few nice belt buckles in horsemanship and reining. Even picked up a regional title on one of the rare hunter horses the farm produced. Western has always been her roots, she is a fan and lover of a good working horse. She has shown and pinned in pleasure classes extensively but her true passion is in reining and cutting. Her dad had her putting show miles on all kinds of horses – so by the time she got to university it wasn’t surprising that with some adjustment time and hard work she did quite well. Her job after university was working at a big named barn; she managed the client barn and worked with horses from starting to finishing. She has a soft nature about her, patience and some talent thanks to years of professional coaching and great horses.

sample.Samantha wore her signature smile, the whole university thing had scared the crap out of her for the longest time but now that she was actually here the girls nerves were minimal. Perhaps it was because horses had a way of calming her, she felt like she knew what she was doing for the most part when it came to riding and horses. She didn’t fancy herself the best rider but she was aware of her talent and confident in herself. She took pride in her riding and showing up dressed the part, while some people considered her attire a bit extreme Sami didn’t think so. She wasn’t above schooling in jeans and half chaps but as long as she was lessoning, jods, tall boots and a fitted top. It was what she had been taught from day one, no matter who was coaching her they deserved her respect and effort as they were spending their time and knowledge trying to help her, the least she could do is play her part. The knowledge Damian passed on was good, she nodded in agreement – that was what she was doing. She could have another year or two in the eq ring but Samantha was enjoying her time as a jumper and decided she would get a head start on something new so that when the time came she would have the practise and effort put in and not be a newb to the jumper ring fresh out of university. She did have some method to her madness, granted it wasn’t always the best choice but it was hers.
Samantha corrected her own posture, she had a terrible habit of slouching while taking instruction – never under the judges. She typically slouched in the in gate, in line and waiting for instruction or direction from a trainer. It usually drove most of them mad so the girl had become keen on reminding herself instead of wasting precious learning time. Damian was easy to listen to, nice and to the point with enough detail she quite enjoyed the information he was so kindly reviewing and sharing. It was nice to know about the whole scene, even though she had read lots online and heard through word of mouth it was nice to have a staff member reconfirm what she had in her mind. It was also nice to see a coach pay such close attention to his horses and riders – most of the trainers she worked with were very aware of what their horses needed and who could ride in what bit but Sami wasn’t foreign to the type that wouldn’t notice if a horse was in a Pelham, a full cheek or a d-ring let alone a straight bar or broken mouth snaffle. Her mom rode and they were a horse oriented family but they hadn’t always had horses and their own place – she had been a victim of over worked and under paid “coaches” who worked under someone with a big named barn. It usually didn’t take long for her mom to weed those types out and for them to move on. Bloat. Mental note stuck instantly in neon yellow next to the mares name – it was sitting next to – leg based and sensitive face, broken mouth snaffle and a short crop. Looking to Damian Samantha was smiling, she moved her leg forward accordingly so he could tighten her girth for her. With mention of level she thought for a second, brain fart. She thought back quickly to her acceptance and whole ordeal with the equestrian program. The paper appeared in her mind and she drew in a small breath before speaking again.
“Thanks for that. Oh Level, I am pretty certain I was put in open.”
It was something that hadn’t totally surprised the girl, she had competed most of her life at the high level shows but she was very aware that it didn’t make her the golden child here. The other riders in her level weren’t slacking off either, the competition wasn’t going to bore her at all. Actually the girl was pretty certain she was going to have to work her ass off to keep up as a freshman but she was more than game and pretty much chomping at the bit. It was a new challenge, something fresh and exciting – the whole borrowed/leased horse idea made her smile because it would test her more than showing the farm horses at home would ever. Despite her mother’s encouragement and confidence Samantha didn’t know what her first year of competition held for her, who knows what she was going to qualify for but she had promised herself like always that aiming for good clean rides was the way to go – ribbons would follow.
“I hope so too, Oh I usually go by Sami but Samantha or even Sam is fine too.”
She didn’t struggle to speak with Damian like she did with fellow classmates sometimes, the girl was in a comfortable setting with a coach. She didn’t usually suffer from her sometimes awkward moments when it came to horses, in fact she could actually chat your ears off all day about the creatures or about topics revolving around them. Never would she put a word in about herself or her feelings beyond the obvious that she loves the animals, lives and breathes them – nothing more though. So as she gathered her reins slowly and was certain to switch her crop over with care she used the inside of her lower calves – barely moving them to ask the mare to move on. Molten stepped out with ease though Sami could feel the need for the mare to step up under herself more before she could carry a true frame and carriage. Adding a touch of leg she sat deep in the saddle and pushed. She was pleased when the mare responded and softened her hands as she mare sourced her power and carriage completely off Sami’s hands. With her leg a touch far back the girl sat a little deeper in the saddle to start hoping she could drive the mare forwards even more with her seat and leg, Sami kept a soft steady hand – Damian’s works were sharp in her mind.
