Horses in this thread belong to the University, however are generally used by the Equestrian Team. These horses include horses that are currently in training, used for research in masters programs (feed preferences, etc.), stallions, or jump and bood mares used to breed. Any horse the university has that is not used directly for riding and training students can be found here.

appearancebreed. Thoroughbred height. 16.3 hh color. Bay markings. back socks, front right pastern, small star historydiscipline. Eventing NCAA? Upper level flat sire. World's End dam. There and Back Again personality and history. After a very poor track record, Apollo was retired and sent to training for some other discipline. Personality-wise, Apollo was your basic off the track gelding. He’s a little spooky and needs a very firm rider as he can be hard to stop, but his trainers refuse to put a stronger bit in the young horse’s mouth with the exception of shows. Apollo, from the first day of training, showed great promise as an eventer. He is very responsive to anything his rider asks of him and tries his hardest all the time but also has a very beautiful jump. Though very quick to jumps and known to throw himself over them he is getting better and learning to form himself over a fence to get the most height. Though he is quick to walk when being lead he is a pleasure on the ground, including ground ties and hobble training. He trailers and tends to remain calm while on show grounds. He has done one beginner novice event and got third place. The trainers hope to get him up to preliminary events before selling him for a pretty penny, either at the school or elsewhere. owner. Jackson Training Center leaser.

appearancebreed. Hanoverian height. 16.3 hh color. Palomino markings. Star, wide stripe, snip historydiscipline. Dressage NCAA. Not Used sire. Alcatraz dam. Golden Rainbow personality and history. Desire, or "Dee" as he has been affectionately called since he came to the States, was born, broke and raised in Germany. After the little foal hit the ground they knew that he was going to be great and his color has always made him an eye catcher for his breed. He was trained by professionals and then passed his stallion tests with flying colors and was branded. He worked his way up the dressage latter slowly, like most dressage horses, and by the age of thirteen he was showing in Grand Prix shows all over the world, including the 2006 and 2010 World Equestrian Games. After the 2010 games he was left in Lexington, Kentucky after being retired and donated to Rowanoak University, giving the old owners a great tax break. The University has started to breed him to some of their warmblood mares and a few promising dressage students are allowed to hop aboard and try him out. owner. Rowanoak University

appearancebreed. Quarter Pony height. 14.2 hh color. bay markings. No Markings historydiscipline. Equitation, Hunter NCAA. Used in all levels sire. Star Creator (Skipa Star) dam. Weekly Endings personality and history. Sunday was a home bred mare and was kept at the farm on which she was bred for most of her life. She was trained well by the barn owner's grown daughter and, though she was the first horse the girl trained from the ground up, the mare ended up okay in the end. She took many of the students to the top and, not long ago her owners decided to breed her before she was too old. The mare went through the pregnancy fine but she proved to be quite a had mother and rejected her foal from the second the colt hit the ground. A couple years later they decided to breed her again. Once again, the mare went through the pregnancy without an issue but this time the birth of the large foal caused a tare in her cervix and, though not rejecting the foal this time, she wasn't exactly the most attentive mother. After this second foal the barn in which she was born could not afford to keep her. After a while of bouncing around she was donated to Rowanoak. The school, since breeding her with a torn cervix and proven to be a bad mother, made her into a jump mare so they could more easily collect from the stallions and have a mare who could go out and keep the stallions company, although one at any given year. From time to time she is still used in NCAA shows and students will ride her in shows. owner. Rowanoak University
