appearance. Alexander definitely doesn’t come off as the type to go out and play sports like football and basketball, though perhaps he could be just a tad bit taller for the latter. Instead, especially during the years before his life took a turn for the better, he was a definite playboy and rebel. A fierce looking panther crawls up his left arm and both ears are pierced (though he no longer wears earrings). On the back of his right shoulder is a nasty scar from a knife, providing proof of a life he’s not too proud of. His eyes the color of an aqua sky as if it merged with the sea’s green and murky depths: blue-green. Since he started riding horses, Alexander has worked to strengthen his leg and arm muscles, although his right arm is noticeably weaker than his left, he does have the extra muscles on them both. His hair is naturally brown, but he tends to more than often bleach it into a more blond color.

personality. Before attending his therapy classes, Alexander was your typical rebel and play boy. He had his fair share of girlfriends and lost his virginity at a young age, getting a girl pregnant in the process. Now, since he’s taken therapeutic classes with animals (namely the horses and dogs) his true colors are starting to shine. When the teenager puts his mind to it, he can be extremely strong-minded, unfortunately he has a tendency to give in to peer-pressure and does what others want him to do in order to be accepted. Since Alexander was forced to leave Destiny behind there’s no doubt he may give in more to peer pressure since she was the one thing that kept him staying strong.
Unlike the playboy rebel he used to be, Alexander doesn’t talk back to his teachers or flirt with every girl he comes across. He hates the temptation of girls shoving their boobs in his face and fears he might end up going back to the life he use to have, and he doesn’t want to lose the friends he made now. So he’s rather cautiouswhen it comes to girls flirting with him. Just like many guys, Alexander doesn’t like showing weaknesses to people and if he sees one in himself he will try as hard as possible to overcome it and prove himself wrong. Even though he’s much nicer than he once was, Alexander still stands up for himself and won’t take bitchy remarks that are aimed towards him or his friends.
Alexander, completely unlike his once reckless personality, is now rather responsible. When given a task he’ll do it and do it till it’s done. He’s not the type to give up in the middle of something and he isn’t scared of failing after trying so hard to complete something, he takes what he gets and only sees it as a sign to try harder. Despite the fact that he absolutely hates being assigned long essays, he’ll even do those to the best of his ability. One might say he’s got a bit of an obsession with proving others he’s the best at something. (Though this obsession didn’t travel into his love for horses). When it comes to horses he takes things at his own pace, going along with the horse until they too can do their best.

history. Alexander Jordan Fox was born in the world as a crying mess, just like many children before him. He had an adorable little nose and a tiny body, defenseless against the cruel likes of the world. But alas, everything good in the world slowly comes to an end, at least that’s how it seemed for Alexander as he slowly aged into an elementary school kid living in the likes of Brooklyn, New York, where only the strong survived. It was a dog eat dog world and Alexander was quick to learn this the hard way after his first fight over his own lunch money. Perhaps it would have been even worse had his sister not been there to hold his hand throughout the war of life. After his first fight, Alex came home crying with a black eye, his family had tried to protect him from the harsh realities of New York that when he’d finally stepped out he didn’t know what to do with the recent events. His parents were both working so when Alexander stepped through the front door of their apartment building with tears streaming down his face and a bruised eye; it was his sister who was there to hold him. She erased his tears and soothed his aching face, and perhaps that’s why he started to develop a sister complex for her. Christie encouraged him to step out and show them who was boss.
In the dog eat dog world, a boy needs to learn how to fight or get…well or have his ass handed to him. Alexander did just that, but perhaps he pushed it too far. After skipping several days of school, at first too scared to go back, when he did he stomped right up to the boy who had taken his lunch money and punched him in the face. The poor boy shook in fear as he did this, but the older kid didn’t fight back. Oh, Alex thought he was so tough after that, and he quickly turned into boy who strongly believed this. Nobody messed with Alexander after that incident. He went from the anti-social boy in the corner of the lunchroom to an interactive boy surrounded by friends (though many of them just wanted to use him, Alex didn’t care, as long as he had people to back him up). The brown-haired boy was so proud when he told Christie about how he had stood up for himself, but maybe if she’d known what he would turn into she would never have congratulated him like she did.
Years were slow to pass, but things just seemed to get worse for Alexander and his parents and Christie didn't even seem to notice. Well, it wouldn't be that long until they did start noticing. It started around the time that Alexander's parents started to get even more pulled into their work. His father had an excellent job and his mother helped disabled children overcome their disabilities. Alex couldn't help but feel like she loved the disabled children more than him, the only one who was there for him was Christie. But, as he got older he started teller her less and less things and staying out later and later. By the time he was fourteen he had had six different girlfriends, he'd lost his virginity, gotten a girl pregnant and left her, and gotten caught up in drugs and alcohol. He just didn't seem to care anymore. He grades were barely passing and he had more absences then days present. Christie only had her growing suspicions about him confirmed when he came home the day of his fifteenth birthday with a fresh new tattoo of a panther crawling up his left arm.
Christie tried to stop him; she told him everything he was doing was only going to get him in trouble. As much as he loved her, though, he was just too far gone. He'd gotten himself dragged into drug dealing and debts and he just couldn't pull her into his own problems. Alexander started trying to pull himself out of the drugs, out of the alcohol. Yet the peer pressure was just too great, he was a rebel, but popular for it, he didn't want that to change. Things do change, though, rather a person can control it or not…even if the circumstances of change almost kill him.
For a while, now, Alex had been collecting more and more debts from people around him. He was addicted to the drugs and addicted to the alcohol. It was only a matter of time before those people wanted the money back from him…and they'd get it any way possible. It was the last day of school and Alexander was on his way home when he was dragged into an alleyway and despite his struggles was mugged for all the money he had on him…and, in the process received a knife stab straight into the back of his shoulder. Now, Alexander had been through a lot, but nothing that had ever happened to him felt as bad as the knife as it was yanked from his shoulder and he was left to die in the alleyway. Perhaps it was only coincidence that a passerbyer noticed the fleeing debt collectors, but an older man found Alex clinging to his shoulder as blood spilled onto the dusty floor.
That was only the start of the new life Alexander had been aiming for. At the age of sixteen, his parents finally noticed the things he had been a part of and started closely monitoring him. He went to the hospital until his wound healed, during which he then started going to weekly therapy sessions. It was hard, though, nothing seemed to really get through to him, he seemed to want to just go out and do it all over again. He wanted 'revenge'. That is, until his therapist suggested 'animal therapy'. There was a group an hour away from where he lived that used animals such as horses, dogs, and cats to provide comfort to teens that are going through a difficult time. It worked wonders for Alexander.
Alexander's mother quit her job in order to drive Alex an hour back and forth to the groups location every other day (fortunately enough his father's job was able to successfully keep them going). There Alexander met a skewbald horse who went by the name of Destiny. The mare's story was meant to be an inspirational one to the children attending the group’s sessions. A horse that had been left to die and fend for her, but had managed to get the love and care she needed to turn into the beautiful five year old mare she was now. Alex felt a connection with her, for one reason or another and she was always the first creature he'd go to see whenever he visited the group. When he got his license he started going out more and more often, it was what truly made him happy for once and it wasn't long before even the workers started to notice the bonding between Destiny and Alexander. During the summer he'd drive for an hour almost every day just to sit on the fence and talk with her about how he was doing and what was going on in his life. It was the first time Alex didn't feel like he was being judged and the first time he was truly being accepted for who he was. Before long the owners began actually teaching him how to ride and they soon started letting him use Destiny to take lessons. He wasn't a natural, but he was a quick learner and before long he and Destiny were both working hard to learn how to become jumpers.
Things were finally starting to get better for Alexander. He started to make friends with people who actually cared about him. He didn't have to turn to the drugs or the alcohol to make him happy, he had horses now. Even when his sister finally left the house to get married he was able to keep on being fine. When the next semester rolled around Alexander's grades rose to B's and A's and despite losing a good number of his old friends he was happy. It only got better when Christmas of his junior year of High School his parents managed to convince the leaders of the teenage help group to sell them Destiny. Alexander couldn't have been happier, he finally had the horse he loved and he started going out and participating in more events with her, managing to win himself a couple blue ribbons in the process.
When Alexander graduated (a surprise to many of his old teachers), he was torn between going to a college to help him better his riding skills, it was what he wanted to do for a living, but if he choose to pick this path he'd have to leave Destiny behind, she loved her current stable and he didn’t want to drag her along. Alexander would also have to leave behind Maxxy, a kitten he had seen thrown from a car while on his way to visit Destiny one day, and adopted. Despite knowing he'd find it difficult to adjust riding a new horse since Destiny was the only one he had ever ridden before, he decided to go pursue his dreams, promising he'd come back for Destiny.
He started off joining the IHSA when he was 18, taking lessons there for a while, the place just wasn't for him he wanted...more from his schooling. Not to mention he just didn't seem to be fitting in at the school. He toughed it out for an entire semester, though, until he graduated and decided that Rowanoak University, an out of state school, but still in his price range, seemed more his taste. So after a somewhat difficult process of transferring all his transcripts over and doing the necessary changes, he moved into the dorms of Rowanoak and began his new schooling there.
riding history. Alex didn't begin riding horses until he was fifteen years old, and the only one he really rode was Destiny. When he was in his final year of high school his parents bought him Destiny and they started boarding him at a well-known stable 30 minutes from their home where he took lessons twice a week and as a combined effort both he and Destiny learned how to become jumpers. Even when he's not riding, Alexander loves grooming and just spending time with his horse. He also spent a lot of time learning about the different breeds and some more advanced knowledge about the horses in order to keep him distracted whenever he felt the need to drink or have alcohol again. Alexander isn't exactly a natural at horse-back riding, but he tries his best to work well with whichever horse he rides. Alexander has only been participating in shows for around two years (around thirteen shows total), but he has shown some decent skill for jumping and won several ribbons. There’s still so much he needs to learn, though, and he hopes to find out more at the college.

extra. I wanted to give him a little development by leaving behind Destiny, but is it possible for him to bring her later on after he's gone up a rank or so?
sample. (from a Pokemon RP)The excitement that rippled through Harlequin's veins was all but not noticeable as the two made the trip from the Pokemon center to their selected training arena. Since Alex had posted the request for a battle a week ago, she'd been impatiently awaiting for the day to arrive, consistently training and practicing Electrike's moves. The Lightning Pokemon had skills, that were to be seen, but he acted so recklessly that most of that skill ended up going to waste. He made up for what he lacked through recklessness with his pure determination. At least he wasn't quick to give up the fight and hung on until he didn't have any fight left in him. Although that was a bit of a double-edged sword, it was a pain having to take him to the pokecenter all the time because he overworked himself. It cost money for potions, and money wasn't something she had enough of to just waste on potions.
( "YES! There it is! There it is!" ) The electric hound barked as the training center soon came into view. This was going to be the first time in a while she would be having a real battle. She'd had a number of training battles back at her home, but most of them had been with Absol and Froslass, it was about time Harlequin got in some levels. An evolution would just just as better. In all truth, Alex hadn't been amused by her previous battle against the Shellos and Wooper. Aside from being stuck with Mrs. Obnoxious, the two Pokemon just weren't the challenge she wanted. She needed...something more. She wasn't completely complaining about that battle, though. She'd managed to acquire a rather nice Larvitar from the Shellos she caught, although...the thing appeared to have a few screws loose. Though, didn't all Pokemon have some screws loose? In fact, it seemed like a lot of Pokemon these days had screws loose.
A quiet chime filled her ears as she pushed open the thick glass door and approached the front desk, her combat boots making a soft clunking noise against the tiled floor as she relished the feeling of comfortable heating in the building. It wouldn't be lasting too long, though. Since Alex had picked the battle arena herself she didn't have to bother waiting in what was an extremely long line to discover the room number. Instead she pushed herself through the crowd of trainers and breeders, as well as the occassional coordinator, until she reached the selected arena. Big numbers reading 62 gleamed on the entrance in bright red, signaling that someone had already entered into the arena. Just as well for her, she didn't want to have to sit around in the rain waiting for her opponent to arrive. There was slight effort put in as Alex pushed open the heavy door and entered into the arena. No sooner had entrance been made that Alex and her Lightning Pokemon were smacked by a rush of combined wind and water. Just great, it was her luck that the rain had seemed to worsen since she had last checked out the area on her first visit here. Even still, it had been a choice of this rainy, maze-like arena, or a sea covered in nothing more than platforms to battle on. Alex despised large expanses of water so she'd been quick to decide on this arena for her battle.
The pounding rain was quick to completely drench both Harlequin and Alex. The droplets of water sinking through Alex's light clothing, soaking not only her first layer of clothing, but all undergarments as well. (Despite the fact that she had previously been walking through cold winter weather, she'd choosen not to lug around her heavy winter coat). "God Dammit." Alex moaned, tugging at her already soaked shirt. "Get over here, Harlequin." She snapped at her electric hound as he began to wander off towards the maze of stone walls. She would find a canopy or a wall or something to shield herself from the arena's nasty weather before she tried to find her opponent. ( "Why'd you pick such a shitty place for a battle?" ) Electrike moaned, changing course and following after his trained. "Shut up before I smack you." She hissed in reply. If she had had any more choices she wouldn't have picked them, but because she didn't the consequences had been beyond her control.
Unfortunately, trainer and Pokemon didn't get to the same place at the same intended time. There was the unidentifiable sound of another human, and then the sound of something swooping quickly through the rain. Not much later after that Harlequin vanished as Alex felt a rush of wind and rain sweep by her. She only caught a glimpse of something dark with dangerously red eyes before it vanished into the rain, taking her Electrike with it. The hound dog was taken by complete shock with the attack coming out of seemingly nowhere, but he was quick to get his bearings together, and to feel the sharp pain of fangs jutting into his soft flesh. The Pokemon let out a loud yowl of anguish as he struggle within the death grip of the strange-colored Pokemon. He twisted and turned his small green body until he finally managed to rip himself free and tumbled to the ground. The blood wasn't given time to fall as rain continued to pound on his small body, falling over every new wound. "Don't use your electric attacks!" Alex was quick to yell a command at her reckless Electrike. The rush of wind had died down and she could now see both her Electrike with his newly acquired wounds, and the strangely colored Pokemon. She could now identify it as the ground and flying type, Gliscor, but not like any she had ever seen before.
( "What?!" ) Electrike barked, wincing as he backed up several steps to put distance between him and the Gliscor. ( "What else do you expect me to do?" ) If he wasn't allowed to use his trademark Discharge attack, how was he suppose to win the battle? It would have been so good to use with all the rain and puddles that covered the ground. This wasn't something Alex had been hoping for. Of all Pokemon she had hoped to be pitted against in a battle, a ground/flying type wasn't one of them, it cut down her options in battle by more than she would have liked. She'd have to watch out for both those sharp fangs and the tail, not to mention those crab-like claws. "Shit!" The rain and battle dilemma was putting her into a rather pissed-off mood. The only way she'd get an advantage is if she made it herself. "Quick Attack, Electrike. Get its eyes, watch out for those fangs."
Electrike glared at the Gliscor's ivory fangs in disbelief. Was she joking? she wanted him to go right back towards the place he'd just been held captive in. Harlequin tensed his muscles as he turned his gaze onto the Gliscor's eyes. He bet that Eris would do it, so he should too. Suddenly the green dog bolted, scrambling across the mud-covered grass before jumping at the Gliscor's eyes with his forepaws outstretched. He hoped to be able to get the Gliscor by surprise and claw his eyes to the point where he would at least be temporarily blinded, maybe even permanently blinded. In the meanwhile Alex took a glance around the arena, trying to identify where the other trainer was holding out.
