appearance. Sara is of medium height. Standing at five and a half feet, she can easily pass for a few inches taller or shorter. She is quite skinny, many people say. One thing that is true is that she has a light frame. Her weight is slightly under average, and she doesn't worry about it very much. She has bushy brown hair that is cut to about shoulder length. This she usually wears tied back or in a bun. It is naturally wavy, so if she leaves it down, that is usually what it looks like. For a bit of variety, she will color one strand temporarily blue to accent her clothing. Her eyes are light brown.
She usually wears button up shirts. Her favorite color is blue, and that is obvious in her clothing. Usually, the shirts are of a striped blue. Blue jeans are also a part of her everyday outfit. She usually wears tennis shoes, good for running. These must have a bit of blue somewhere on them that Sara will even consider trying them on.
Her teeth are somewhat crooked. She has a retainer to wear, but she only puts it in at night as it bothers her while talking. They are white, though, although she makes no attempt to bleach them. Her skin is always tanned, due to the time she spends outside. In the summer, she has tan lines that match her swimsuit.
Sara's face is mostly round, but she has an angular chin that just out when she gets mad. She has a straight nose, not small but fitting her face. Her lips are pink, and the lower one is slightly fuller than the upper. She doesn't have her ears pierced, but for special events, she does have stylish clip-on earrings that she will wear once in a while.

dislikes.personality. Sara is held back and quite, most of the time. She loves all animals, and hates to see them getting hurt. She has an anger issue, her temper flares up quickly. She can flare up at something as simple as someone saying something sarcastic to anything that is an attack on her. She sometimes starts off for no reason, but that is usually because of something that had happened earlier. She doesn't forgive, and she doesn't forget either. She can get loud, but she usually is not violent unless something is really bad. She is an introvert, preferring to spend most of her time alone or with a few people. She doesn’t get along with people that are like her, because it usually turns into a big shouting match. She is very sensitive about her citizenship.

She is very intelligent and grades are not a problem for her, although she isn’t very good at Social Sciences, she tends to forget dates easily. She excels at math, however. She likes reading and listening to music, but she dislikes anything with an overly loud beat to it, preferring instead country music. She likes trail riding, especially in small groups. She doesn’t like competing in large events, as she gets very nervous, but she does do it sometimes in the western discipline. Her best events are barrel racing and reining.

history. Sara was born in Germany. Her first language is and always will be German. Her parents moved the family to Texas when she was just three years old, but continued to raise her on European principles. She went to school at five years old, but her teachers had her skip kindergarten after just a few months. She was already reading at that time, so there were no objections. She wasn’t welcomed by her new classmates, seen instead as the ‘snobby little smart girl’. This hurt her very much, because she wasn’t snobby at all. She was just different, but no one wanted to see that. At the age of nine, she started riding, due in part to an obsession with animals. She took lessons once a week at a local western stable. That is where she learned to ride safely and moderately well.
She learned to live with the indifference of her peers, however. She held her head up and continued, plodding through school quite easily. She didn’t need friends, and learned to work alone on everything. Her first year of high school, Sara met the girl that would be her best friend, a girl named Nikole. They instantly clicked, forming a new group in high school. Now nothing would bother Sara, she had someone to make her laugh. In her junior year, Nikole died in a car crash. She was rammed by a drunk driver. Sara got over it, shutting herself off from the world.
She didn’t find any other students that understood her, so she just finished her high school years with good grades. When her acceptance letter came in, it was to find her happier than she had been in a few years. Her parents had just adopted a new on, Jay. Sara loved Jay so much, and she would do whatever possible to make him happy. Of course, the acceptance letter was the icing on the cake. Then Star was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma, and Sara had to head off to her new school, worried about how Jay would take her leaving and if Star would survive.
riding history. Sara started riding when she was nine. As her birthday present, her parents bought her lessons at a local stable. She rode once a week. Here she learned the basics of caring for horses and riding. She learned mostly western riding, but also learned how to ride outside of the ring, just as recreation. For her fifteenth birthday, her parents leased a horse for her, as well as switched her lessons over to an English stable. The Quarter horse mare, named Star, helped her get over Nikole’s death, and taught her the basics of dressage and show jumping. Sara entered a few shows with Star, and placed in a few, but nothing definite. The mare was good natured and sweet, but she just wasn't the horse for the show ring. So Sara borrowed another horse from her stable and went on to compete in some recognized shows. She didn't accept the offer, however, because there had been bad news. Star was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. That was also when Sara got her acceptance letter to Rowaoak. Sara had to leave for the university without knowing what would happen to her best friend, but soon got the letter. Star had a benign type of the cancer, and she would survive, with few side effects. This gave Sara hope, and she started looking for a horse to lease while she was away from home.

sample.Sara walked slowly down the corridor, looking left and right, trying to spot a familiar room number. She looked down at the map that the secretary had given her, trying to figure out why the room numbers seemed so different. Surely she hadn’t gone the wrong way? There hadn’t been that many places where she could have gone wrong, unless she had started at the wrong place. She glanced at the sign on the door closest to her. Room 148, East Wing. Looking back at her map, she found the spot where that room would be and laughed softly to herself. “How stupid of me. I started from the East Office.” She distinctly remembered the sign that had welcomed her into the office where she had been registered, checked, and re-checked. West Office. Tracing along the map with her finger, she mapped out a new route to where she wanted to go. Nodding slightly to herself, she walked to the nearest door and set off, doubling back to where her room should be via the stables. That was the landmark she had wanted to see since she arrived, sure that the stables at such a grand university would be huge and magnificent. She gazed at the wooden building, standing still for a moment, feeling the straps of her backpack cutting into her back. Just then, another girl walked out of the big double doors, leading an Arabian horse. Sara nodded to the girl, then continued on her way, knowing that she would be better off here than Texas. This place was just where she was meant to be.
